Atelopus guitarraensis Osorno-Muñoz, Ardila-Robayo, and Ruiz-Carranza, 2001, Caldasia, 23: 509. Holotype: ICN 23348, by original designation. Type locality: "Colombia, Meta, Guamal, Macizo Sumapaz, Laguna 'La Guitarra', ca 3° 47′ latitud N, 74° 6′ longitud W de Greenwich, 3400 m".

Known only from the type locality (Laguna 'La Guitarra', ca. 3° 47′ N, 74° 6′ W, 3400 m, Meta, Colombia), in the Páramo de Sumapaz on the Cordillera Oriental, 3400 m elevation.
