Atelopus halihelos Peters, 1973, Smithson. Contrib. Zool., 145: 22. Holotype: AMNH 16716, by original designation. Type locality: "Ecuador: Morona-Santiago Province, Cordillera Cutucú".

Southeastern slopes of the Cordillera Oriental, Morona-Santiago Province, Ecuador, 1369 to 2329 m elevation.
