Distribution

Known from eight localities in Loreto in the Amazonian lowlands of northern Peru, ranging from ca. 85–150 m elevation; likely to extend into Acre Brazil.

Delimited by Atelopus spumarius on the basis of adult morphology, osteology, call, and molecular markers in the original publication, where older literature was discussed.
