Atelopus nanay Coloma, 2002, Herpetologica, 58: 234. Holotype: QCAZ 1922, by original designation. Type locality: "Las Tres Cruces (4 km W of Laguna Toreadora; 2° 46′ S, 79° 14′ W; Parque Nacional del Cajas; 4000 m), Provincia Azuay, Ecuador".

Highlands of the Cordillera Occidental in Azuay and Cañar provinces, Ecuador, 3209 to 4183 m elevation.
