Atelopus onorei Coloma, Lötters, Duellman, and Miranda-Leiva, 2007, Zootaxa, 1557: 16. Holotype: QCAZ 1860, by original designation. Type locality: "Ecuador: Provincia Azuay: 10-15 Km E Luz Maria, Rio Chipla (2° 47′ 24″S, 79° 21′ 36″ W), approx. 2500 m above sea level".

Common Names

Onore's Harlequin Frog (Pounds and Coloma, 2008, Nature Climate Change, 1: 57). 

Distribution

Known only from the vicinity of the type locality in cloud forest in the Azuay Basin of the western slope of the Cordillera Occidental in Azuay Province, Ecuador, 2500–3100 m elevation.

Confused with Atelopus bomolochos prior to its description according to the original publication.
