Atelopus pedimarmoratus Rivero, 1963

Class: Amphibia > Order: Anura > Family: Bufonidae > Genus: Atelopus > Species: Atelopus pedimarmoratus

Atelopus pedimarmoratus Rivero, 1963, Caribb. J. Sci., 3: 121. Holotype: FMNH 81872, by original designation. Type locality: "San Isidro, [Departamento de] Cundinamarca, Colombia".

English Names

San Isidro Stubfoot Toad (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 39).

Western versant in the Cordillera Oriental, Cundinamarca, Colombia, and doubtfully from Caucá, in Cordilleras Central (see comment), between 2600 and 3100 m.

See Cochran and Goin, 1970, Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 288: 128-130. Presumably in the Atelopus flavescens group. Lötters, 1996, Neotrop. Toad Genus Atelopus: 41, suggested that the Cauca localities (by Cochran and Goin, 1970, Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 288: 130) were doubtful on geographic grounds. Osorno-Muñoz and Ardila-Robayo, 2004, in Rueda-Almonacid et al. (eds.), Libro Rojo Anf. Colombia: 193-197, provided an account and map. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 172. Rueda-Almonacid and Rueda-Martínez, 2005, in Rueda-Almonacid et al. (eds.), Ranas Arlequines: 98, provided a brief account, photograph, and map.
