Comment

See Cochran and Goin, 1970, Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 288: 128–130. Presumably in the Atelopus flavescens group. Lötters, 1996, Neotrop. Toad Genus Atelopus: 41, suggested that the Cauca localities (by Cochran and Goin, 1970, Bull. U.S. Natl. Mus., 288: 130) were doubtful on geographic grounds. Osorno-Muñoz and Ardila-Robayo, 2004, in Rueda-Almonacid et al. (eds.), Libro Rojo Anf. Colombia: 193–197, provided an account and map. See photograph, map, description of geographic range and habitat, and conservation status in Stuart, Hoffmann, Chanson, Cox, Berridge, Ramani, and Young, 2008, Threatened Amph. World: 172. Rueda-Almonacid and Rueda-Martínez, 2005, in Rueda-Almonacid et al. (eds.), Ranas Arlequines: 98, provided a brief account, photograph, and map.
