Atelopus pinangoi Rivero, 1982 "1980", Mem. Soc. Cienc. Nat. La Salle, 40: 130. Holotype: UPRM 05354, by original designation. Type locality: "Piñango, 2920 m, Edo. Mérida, Venezuela".

Distribution

Known only from the surroundings of the type locality in the Cordillera de Mérida, Mérida, Venezuela, in humid montane forest, 2300 to 2920 m elevation.

Related to Atelopus mucubajiensis, according to the original publication. Presumably in the Atelopus flavescens group.
