Melanophryniscus estebani Céspedez, 2008, FACENA, 24: 37. Holotype: ZVUNRC1887, by original designation. Type locality: "Alpa Corral, Sierra de Comechingones, Departamento de Río Cuarto, Córdoba, Argentina".

Known only from Alpa Corral, Córdoba Province, and La Carolina, San Luis Province, central Argentina.

Comment

In the Melanophryniscus stelzneri group according to the original publication. Zank, Becker, Abadie, Baldo, and Maneyro, 2014, PLoS One, E 9(4: e94625): 1–11, provided modeled distribution maps for the species under climate change.
