Nectophryne tornieri Roux, 1906, Proc. Zool. Soc. London, 1906: 63. Syntypes: BMNH (1947.2.19.44, formerly 1906.1.10.7, according to museum records) and NHMB (1, the figured specimen), by original designation. NHMB 2384, incorrectly considered holotype by Grandison, 1985, in Frost (ed.), Amph. Species World: 70. Type locality: "Ukami, [Uluguru Mountains,] German East Africa [= Tanzania]".

Distribution

East Usambaras through to the Udzungwas between about 300 to 1500 m elevation in forest to forest margins, Tanzania.
