Rhinella inopina Vaz-Silva, Valdujo, and Pombal, 2012, Zootaxa, 3265: 58. Holotype: MNRJ 75231, by original designation. Type locality: "Brazil, State of Goiás, São Domingos municipality (13° 23′ S; 46° 20′ W)".

São Domingos municipality (type locality) and Sítio d'Abadia municipality, in Goiás State, Combinado municipality and Aurora do Tocantins municipality in Tocantins State, São Desidério municipality, in Bahia State, and  the municipalities of Bonito de Minas and Januária, in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Arruda, Peixoto, Guimarães, Lacerda, and Feio, 2014, Check List, 10: 395–396, discussed and mapped the range and provided new records for the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil.
