Sigalegalephrynus gayoluesensis Sarker, Wostl, Thammachoti, Sidik, Hamidy, Kurniawan, and Smith, 2019, Zootaxa, 4679: 377. Holotype: MZB.Amph.30411, by original designation. Type locality: "from above the Desa (Village) Kenyaran Pantan Cuaca, Kabupaten (Regency) Gayo Lues, Provinsi Aceh, Indonesia, 4.22588ºN, 97.18915ºE, 1850 m. a.s.l."

Known only from rain forest flanking a stream adjacent to the Takengon-Blangkejeren road above the village Kenyaran Pantan Cuaca, in the Gayo Lues Regency of the province of Aceh, between 1787 and 1796 m a.s.l.", Sumatra, Indonesia. 


The sister taxon of Sigalegalephrynus burnitelongensis, according to the original publication.
