In the Hyla albosignata group according to the original publication. Call described by Abrunhosa, Pimenta, Cruz, and Haddad, 2005, Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 63: 275–282. In the Aplastodiscus albosignatus group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 82. Lima, Skuk, and Silva, 2006, Herpetol. Rev., 37: 485, provided the record for Alagoas and detailed records from Bahia. Berneck, Haddad, Lyra, Cruz, and Faivovich, 2016, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 97: 213–223, placed this species (and its unnamed sister species) as the sister taxon of remaining Aplastodiscus, rendering the former Aplastodiscus albosignatus group paraphyletic. Juncá, 2006, Biota Neotrop., 6: 1–17, briefly summarized the presence of this species in the Serra da Jibóia region, Bahia, Brazil, and its habitat. Dubeux, Silva, Nascimento, Gonçalves, and Mott, 2019, Rev.
