Distribution

Moderate elevations on the northern slopes of the Sierra Juárez of northern Oaxaca, Mexico; this frog occurs at elevations between 600–1,725 m elevation and has been collected in lower montane rainforest and lower montane cloud forest.

Comment

Confused with Charadrahyla nephila (its sister taxon) prior to its delimitation, according to the original publication, where adult and larval morphology, molecular markers, distribution, and natural history were detailed. The authors also provide a molecular tree of the genus based on three mtDNA genes.
