Comment
Prior to its recognition as a species in 2014, Dendropsophus goughi was considered the Trinidadian part of Dendropsophus microcephalus. Comments under that account should be examined for relevant literature. Removed from the synonymy of Dendropsophus microcephalus by Orrico, Roseno, Rojas-Runjaic, Rojas-Padilla, Baêta, Cassini, Solé, and Faivovich, 2025, Salamandra, 61: 480–486 (who included a substantial discussion of the literature and systematics of this species), where it had been placed by Barrio-Amorós, Rojas-Runjaic, and Señaris Vasquez, 2019, Amph. Rept. Conserv., 13 (1: e180): 74.
