Dabie Mountains, 526 to 1179 m elevation, of Jinzhai, Huoshan, Shucheng, and Yuexi county, Anhui, and Shangcheng County, Henan Province, China; likely to extend in the same mountain range into Hubei province.

Comment
Comparative morphology. molecular markers, and advertisement call detailed in the original publication, where this species was placed in the Hyla chinensis group, previously confused with Hyla tsinlingensis.
