Bokermannohyla diamantina Napoli and Juncá, 2006, Zootaxa, 1244: 59. Holotype: MZUEFS 1784, by original designation. Type locality: "Riacho do Tijuquinha, Serra dos Barbados, District of Catoles de Cima, Municipality of Abaira (13° 16′ 08″ S; 41° 54′ 39″ W; 1700 m altitude), State of Bahia, Brazil".

In the Bokermannohyla circumdata group according to the original publication. Pezzuti, Santos, Martins, Leite, Garcia, and Faivovich, 2015, Zootaxa, 4048: 151–173, reported on larval morphology.
