In the Bokermannohyla pseudopseudis group according to the original publication. Rocha, Thompson, Leite, and Garcia, 2016, Zootaxa, 4061: 277–280, reported on the advertisement call. Magalhães, Mercês, Santana, Juncá, Napoli, and Garda, 2015, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 10: 211–218, reported on larval morphology.
