Hyla cachimbo Napoli and Caramaschi, 1999, Alytes, 16: 176. Holotype: MZUSP 21912, by original designation. Type locality: "Cachimbo (about 09° 21′ S, 54° 57′ W), Pará, Brazil, betwen 200 and 400 m".

Most similar to Hyla rubicundula and Hyla anataliasiasi according to the original publication; in the Hyla rubicundula group by implication. In the Dendropsophus microcephalus group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 91-92. Teixeira and Giaretta, 2015, Salamandra, 51: 137–146, described the advertisement call.
