Known with precision only from the District of Cucuí, Amazonas, Brazil.

Unnassigned to species group according to Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 93. Tentatively placed in the Dendropsophus microcephalus group by Teixeira and Giaretta, 2017, Phyllomedusa, 15: 119–126, who reported on its range, ecology, external morphology, and calls. In the Dendropsophus microcephalus group of Orrico, Grant, Faivovich, Rivera-Correa, Rada, Lyra, Cassini, Valdujo, Schargel, Machado, Wheeler, Barrio-Amorós, Loebmann, Moravec, Zina, Solé, Sturaro, Peloso, Suárez, and Haddad, 2021, Cladistics, 37: 73–105.
