Ecnomiohyla sukia Savage and Kubicki, 2010, Zootaxa, 2719: 23. Holotype: UCR 14119, by original designation. Type locality: " Costa Rica: Provincia de Limón: Cantón de Siquirres: Distrito de Siquirres: Guayacán: Alto Colorado, 710 m (N 10° 02′ 13.7″ W 83°31′ 22.4″)".
Common Names
Shaman Fringe-limbed Treefrog (Salazar, González, and Barrio-Amorós, 2021, Reptiles & Amphibians, 28: 525).
Distribution
Currently know only from a few localities on the Atlantic slope in rainforest in Limón and Guanacaste provinces, Costa Rica, 400 to near 1000 m elevation.

Comment
Hoffmann and Kubicki, 2011, Zootaxa, 2793: 63–66, reported on larval morphology. Köhler, 2011, Amph. Cent. Am.: 222–226, provided a brief summary of natural history for the species of Ecnomiohyla in Central America and provided a range map and photograph for this species. Salazar, Montes-Correa, and Barrio-Amorós, 2021, Anartia, Zulia, 32: 67–70, reported on the calls of both sexes. van Noppen, Quesada, Puschendorf, Varela-Soto, Campobasso, Vela, Aspinall, and Abarca, 2023, Rev. Latinoam. Herpetol., 6: 236-240, provided a range map and new records from (1) Pitilla Biological Station, Caribbean slope of Guanacaste, Costa Rica, 675 m elevation, and the (2) Cabro Muco sector on the Pacific side of Miravalles National Park, part of the Arenal Tempisque Conservation Area, also in Guanacaste Province, Costa Rica, 115 m.
