Without known affinities, according to the original publication. In the Scinax ruber clade, Scinax uruguayus group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 97. Baldo, Araujo-Vieira, Cardozo, Borteiro, Leal, Pereyra, Kolenc, Lyra, Garcia, Haddad, and Faivovich, 2019, PLoS One, 14 (9: e0222131): 1–45, reported on vocalization. Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 97. Eterovick and Sazima, 2004, Anf. Serra do Cipó: 53-54, provided a photograph and brief account (as Hyla pinima). Eterovick, Souza, and Sazima, 2020, Anf.
