Hyla nubicola Duellman, 1964 "1963", Herpetologica, 19: 225. Holotype: UMMZ 118160, by original designation. Type locality: "stream 3 kilometers southwest of Huatusco, Veracruz, Mexico (elevation 1,325 meters)".
