Aparasphenodon bokermanni Pombal, 1993, Copeia, 1993: 1085. Holotype: ZUEC 6604, by original designation. Type locality: "Rio Verde, Estação Ecológica da Jureîa-Itatins (approximately 29° 30′, 47° 15′ W, at sea level), Munipípio de Iguape, Estado de São Paulo, Brazil".

Common Names
Bokermann's Casque-headed Frog (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 52).
Distribution
Known from the type locality, Itanhaém (Cidade Santa Júlia) and from Cananéia, Ilha do Cardoso, in the state of São Paulo and from Guaramirim and Joinville Municipalities, northeastern Santa Catarina, as well as Santa Catarina Island, off the central Santa Catarina coast of Brazil.

Woehl and Woehl, 2003, Herpetol. Rev., 34: 379, reported the Santa Catarina, Brazil, record. Pimenta, Napoli, and Haddad, 2009, Zootaxa, 2123: 54, noted a second locality in state of Sào Paulo, Brazil. Blotto, Lyra, Cardoso, Rodrigues, Dias, Marciano, Vechio, Orrico, Brandão, Assis, Lantyer-Silva, Rutherford, Gagliardi-Urrutia, Solé, Baldo, Nunes, Cajade, Torres, Grant, Jungfer, Silva, Haddad, and Faivovich, 2021, Cladistics, 37: 36–72, discussed phylogenetic placement. Zanette-Silva, Farias, and Ghizoni, 2016, Check List, 12: 1–4, provided new records from Santa Catarina, Brazil, most importantly from Isla Catarina, and summarized the known distribution.
