Corythomantis adspersa Lutz, 1925, C. R. Mém. Hebd. Séances Soc. Biol. Filial., Paris, 93 (1925, vol. 2): 213. Holotype: Not stated, but USNM 96413 ("Lagoa de Paquarema") and MNRJ 650 ("Nitheroi") were considered syntypes by Duellman, 1977, Das Tierreich, 95: 7, although the specimen in the USNM but reason of not being from the published type locality is not a syntypes (J.
