In the Scinax catharinae group and confused with Scinax agilis prior to its naming, according to the original publication. Abreu, Napoli, Trevisan, Camardelli, Dória, and Silva, 2015, Zootaxa, 3981: 430–436, reported on larval morphology. Dubeux, Silva, Nascimento, Gonçalves, and Mott, 2019, Rev.
