Common Names
Alagoas Heart-tongued Frogs (Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 61).
Distribution
Known only from Alagoas and Recife and municipality of Buíque, in Pernambuco, Brazil.

In the Phyllodytes luteolus group of Caramaschi, Peixoto, and Rodrigues, 2004, Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 62: 185–191, and Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 110. Santos and Silva, 2010, Herpetol. Rev., 41: 104, provided a second record for Pernambuco, Brazil, and commented on the range. Campos, Lima, Nascimento, and Santos, 2014, Zootaxa, 3779: 93–100, reported on larval morphology and advertisement call. Dubeux, Silva, Nascimento, Gonçalves, and Mott, 2019, Rev. Nordestina Zool., 12: 18–52, summarized the literature on larval morphology.
