Phyllodytes melanomystax Caramaschi, Silva, and Britto-Pereira, 1992, Copeia, 1992: 187. Holotype: MNRJ 4823, by original designation. Type locality: "Guaibim (13° 17′ S, 38° 58′ W, at sea level), Valença Municipality, State of Bahia, Brazil".

Common Names

Distribution

Known only from the type locality on the southern coast of Bahia, Brazil.

In the Phyllodytes luteolus group of Caramaschi, Peixoto, and Rodrigues, 2004, Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 62: 185–191, and Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 110. Juncá, 2006, Biota Neotrop., 6: 1–17, briefly summarized the presence of this species in the Serra da Jibóia region, Bahia, Brazil, and its habitat. Nunes, Santiago, and Juncá, 2007, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 2: 89–96, described the advertisement call. Forti, Foratto, Márquez, Pereira, and Toledo, 2018, PeerJ, 6(e4813): 1–19, characterized the advertisement call.
