Coll. Brit. Mus., Ed. 2: 455 (provisionally) and Bokermann, 1966, An. Acad. Brasil. Cienc., 38: 336. Recognized as Amphodus wuchereri by Goin, 1961, Ann. Carnegie Mus., 36: 7. In the Phyllodytes auratus group of Caramaschi, Peixoto, and Rodrigues, 2004, Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 62: 185–191, and Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 110. See comment under Phytotriades. Forti, Foratto, Márquez, Pereira, and Toledo, 2018, PeerJ, 6(e4813): 1–19, characterized the advertisement call.
