Isthmohyla nacientes Chaves-Acuña, Abarca, Navarro-Picado, Hidalgo-Mora, Ureña-Chaves, Valverde-Castillo, Chaves, Bolaños, and Faivovich, 2026, Ichthyol. & Herpetol., 114: 339. Holotype: UCR 24345, by original designation. Type locality: "a small stream at Distrito San Lorenzo, Cantón Tarrazú, Provincia San José, Costa Rica, 9837′15.105′′N, 8481′14.074′′W, 1,455 masl". Distribution

Known from the cantons of Dota, Tarrazú, and Perez Zeledon, all in San José Province, central Pacific region of Costa Rica, 1400 to 1500 m elevation.

Comment

Confused with Isthmohyla tica previously and in that species group, according to the original publication, where this species was distinguished on the basis of larval and adult morphology, molecular evidence (mt- and nu-DNA), and advertisement call.
