See Tyler, 1968, Zool. Verh., Leiden, 96: 90. In the Litoria peronii group of Tyler and Davies, 1978, Aust. J. Zool., Suppl. Ser., 27 (63): 39. Menzies, 2006, Frogs New Guinea & Solomon Is.: 104, provided a brief account for this species which he included in his Litoria amboinensis complex. O'Shea, Sanchez, Kathriner, Mecke, Carvalho, Ribeiro, Soares, Araujo, and Kaiser, 2015, Asian Herpetol. Res., 6: 81–82, detailed the range in East Timor.
