Amsterdam, 14: 127 (who also noted that notation of a syntype in the FMNH is in error); ZMA 5676 designated lectotype by Daan and Hillenius, 1966, Beaufortia, 13: 121. Type locality: "Noord-Fluss bei Bivak-Insel", "Noord-Fluss", "Noord Fluss bei Sabang", Lorentz River, West New Guinea" (Papua, Indonesia); restricted to "Sabang" by lectotype designation.

Distribution

Known only from a few localities in the southern lowlands and the Baliem Valley in western New Guinea.
