Known from two nearby localities in southern Bahia, Brazil (Porto Seguro and Fazenda Alegria).

Comment

Comparative morphology, morphometrics, advertisement call, natural history, and distribution detailed in the original publication, where this species was distinguished from its nearest relative, Phyllodytes amadoi and an unnamed species of Phyllodytes. This species was first recognized as Phyllodytes sp. 6 by Blotto, Lyra, Cardoso, Rodrigues, Dias, Marciano, Vechio, Orrico, Brandão, Assis, Lantyer-Silva, Rutherford, Gagliardi-Urrutia, Solé, Baldo, Nunes, Cajade, Torres, Grant, Jungfer, Silva, Haddad, and Faivovich, 2021, Cladistics, 37: 36–72.
