Comment
Peixoto and Caramaschi, 2002, Herpetol. Rev., 33: 318, provided the Bahia record. In the Phyllodytes luteolus group of Caramaschi, Peixoto, and Rodrigues, 2004, Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 62: 185–191, Caramaschi, Peixoto, and Rodrigues, 2004, Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 62: 185–191, and Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 110. Cruz, Feio, and Cardoso, 2007 "2006", Arq. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, 64: 322, suggested that previous records for Bahia were based on Phyllodytes maculosus. Simon and Gasparini, 2003, Bol. Mus. Biol. Mello Leitão, N.S., 16: 47–54, reported on vocalization. Subsequent work by Simon and Peres, 2012, Bol. Mus. Biol. Mello Leitão, N.S., 29: 17–20, re-extended the range from the type locality to Camacan, Bahia, Brazil, provided a dot map of the distribution, and discussed the comparative morphology and advertisement calls. Forti, Foratto, Márquez, Pereira, and Toledo, 2018, PeerJ, 6(e4813): 1–19, characterized the advertisement call. Bastos and Zina, 2022, Herpetol. Notes, 15: 365–376, reported Phyllodytes cf. kautskyi from Jequié municipality, Bahia, Brazil, and briefly discussed its habitat and conservation status.
