Common Names
Blue-headed Snouted Treefrog (Scinax cynocephala: Frank and Ramus, 1995, Compl. Guide Scient. Common Names Amph. Rept. World: 64).
Distribution
Limited to the coastal zone of the eastern Guiana region, in Guyana, French Guiana, and Suriname, but it also occurs in isolated patches in the upper Maroni and Sipaliwini savannah, as well as in the patches of savannas in the states of Roraima and northern Pará in Brazil.

Ramos, Fouquet, Roberto, Perez, Ferrão, Carvalho, Almeida, Gordo, Dantas, Chaparro Auza, Moura, and Ávila, 2026, J. Vert. Biol., Prague, 75(26059): 1–37, revised the Scinax nebulosus complex, of which this is a member, discussing molecular phylogenetics, adult and larval morphology, and morphometrics, and distribution and noting previous misidentifications in the literature.
