Distribution

Known from four localities in Amazonian northern Peru (1: type locality, Ucayali; 2: Huallaga River, Yurimaguas, Loreto; 3: Ampiyacu River, Estirón, Loreto; and extending east to the (4) municipality of Benjamin Constant, Amazonas, Brazil.

In the Scinax rostratus group according to the original publication, where it was noted that the species appears to be threatened by habitat destruction. Araujo-Vieira, Lourenço, Lacerda, Lyra, Blotto, Ron, Baldo, Pereyra, Suárez-Mayorga, Baêta, Ferreira, Barrio-Amorós, Borteiro, Brandão, Brasileiro, Donnelly, Dubeux, Köhler, Kolenc, Leite, Maciel, Nunes, Orrico, Peloso, Pezzuti, Reichle, Rojas-Runjaic, Silva, Sturaro, Langone, Garcia, Rodrigues, Frost, Wheeler, Grant, Pombal, Haddad, and Faivovich, 2023, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 27 (Special Issue): 125, discussed phylogenetic placement. Ramos, Roberto, Almeida, Rojas-Zamora, Fouquet, and Ávila, 2026, Zootaxa, 5866: 66–80, provided new genetically-confirmed records (shown on a dot map) from Peru and Brazil, as well as additional morphological and molecular data.
