Hyla catharinae angrensis Lutz, 1973, Bol. Mus. Nac., Rio de Janeiro, N.S., Zool., 288: 1. Syntypes: MNRJ 2018 and 2512, by original designation. Type locality: "Angra dos Reis, in the southern part of the state of Rio de Janeiro . . . . Fazenda Japuíba", Brazil.

Known only from the vicinity of the type locality (southern part of state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).
Comment
In the Scinax catharinae clade, Scinax catharinae group of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 95. Garey, Costa, Lima, Toledo, and Hartmann, 2012, Acta Herpetol., Firenze, 7: 297-308, reported on the advertisement call.
