Comment

Possibly related to Sphaenorhynchus, according to the original publication. In Dendropsophini of Faivovich, Haddad, Garcia, Frost, Campbell, and Wheeler, 2005, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 294: 89. Portik, Streicher, and Wiens, 2023, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 188 (107907): 67, recovered weak support for Xenohyla rendering Dendropsophus paraphyletic, but declined to make the synonymy.
