Leptodactylus magistris Mijares-Urrutia, 1997, Alytes, 15: 114. Holotype: EBRG 3284, by original designation. Type locality: "Cerro Socopó, cerca de 30 km (por carretera) al SO de Guajiro, Municipio Mauroa, Estado Falcón, Venezuela, cerca de 1250 m".

Tentatively placed in the Leptodactylus podicipinus-wagneri complex according to the original publication.
