Leptodactylus rhodomerus Heyer, 2005, Arq. Zool., São Paulo, 37: 327. Holotype: ICN 13322, by original designation. Type locality: "campamento Chancos, Vereda Campo Alegre, Municipio de Restrepo, Valle de Cauca, Colombia, 460 m, 3° 58′ N, 76° 44′ W".

Distribution

Rainforest from western and northwestern Colombia to northern Ecuador.

Comment

In the Leptodactylus pentadactylus group and confused with Leptodactylus pentadactylus prior to its naming according to the original publication. In the Leptodactylus pentadactylus species group of de Sá, Grant, Camargo, Heyer, Ponssa, and Stanley, 2014, S. Am. J. Herpetol., 9(Spec. Issue 1): 1–123, and who provided a summary of relevant literature (adult morphology, identification, and range) on p. 58. Florez-Lucero, Garzón-Franco, and Alzate-Basto, 2024, Rev. Latinoam. Herpetol., 7: 53–57, provided a dot map of the distribution along with an extension to the Arenas Blancas Nature Reserve (6.950048° N, 74.901983° W, WGS84; 1,114 m a.s.l.) in the municipality of Amalfi, east-central Antioquia, Colombia.
