Gephyromantis (Duboimantis) bemiray Vences, Köhler, Scherz, Hutter, Maheritafika, Rafanoharana, Raherinjatovo, Rakotoarison, Andreone, Raselimanana, and Glaw, 2024, Spixiana, München, 46: 310. Holotype: ZSM 221/2022, by original designation. Type locality: "Makira Reserve, around Simpona Lodge (15.1992° S, 49.6208° E, 410 m a. s. l.), northeastern Madagascar."

Common Names

None noted. 

Distribution

Known from (1) the type locality on the eastern slope of the Makira Reserve, around Simpona Lodge, (2) the Masoala Peninsula, close to “Eco-Lodge chez Arol”, (3) Ambohitsitondroina-Masoala, and (4) Ambolokopatrika. The species occupies an elevational range between ca. 20–900 m.

Comment

In the Gephyromantis moseri complex according to the original publication where comparative genomics, advertisement call, natural history, and adult morphology were detailed. This species has previously been considered as Gephyromantis sp. 18 by Vieites, Wollenberg, Andreone, Köhler, Glaw, and Vences, 2009, Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA, 106 8267–8272.
