Gephyromantis (Duboimantis) fuscus Vences, Köhler, Scherz, Hutter, Maheritafika, Rafanoharana, Raherinjatovo, Rakotoarison, Andreone, Raselimanana, and Glaw, 2024, Spixiana, München, 46: 305. Holotype: ZSM 502/2009, by original designation. Type locality: "Angozongahy campsite, western side of Makira Reserve (15.4370° S, 49.1186° E, 1009 m above sea level), northeastern Madagascar."

Distribution

Known from two localities, (1) the western slope of the Makira Reserve (here at two sites: the type locality Angozongahy campsite and the source of the Fotsialanana River), and (2) Mahasoa Forest, at elevations of 1009–1067 m elevation.

Comment

In the Gephyromantis moseri complex according to the original publication where comparative genomics, advertisement call, natural history, and adult morphology were detailed. This species has previously been considered as Gephyromantis sp. 22 by Vieites, Wollenberg, Andreone, Köhler, Glaw, and Vences, 2009, Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA, 106 8267–8272, and Kaffenberger, Wollenberg, Köhler, Glaw, Vieites, and Vences, 2012, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 62: 555–560, and as Gephyromantis sp. Ca22 by Perl, Nagy, Sonet, Glaw, Wollenberg, and Vences, 2014, Amphibia-Reptilia, 35: 197–206.
