Known only from the type locality Qingshan Village in Zhaozishan Nature Reserve, Linkou County, Qixingguan District, Bijie City, Guizhou Province, China, 1670–1750 m elevation.

Comment
The sister taxon of Leptobrachella purpuraventra according to the original publication from which it differs in morphology, call, and mtDNA. Li, Zhang, Luo, Liu, Shen, Chen, Su, and Wang, 2024, Asian Herpetol. Res., 15: 90–103, reported on osteology.
