Leptolalax botsfordi Rowley, Dau, and Nguyen, 2013, Zootaxa, 3737: 418. Holotype: VNMN 03682, by original designation. Type locality: "under leaf litter, 0.2 m from small trickle of water running through mossy rocks to a 1 m-wide cascading stream in upper montane forests on Mount Fansipan, Hoang Lien National Park, Lao Cai Province, Vietnam (22.3135° N, 103.7652° E, 2,815 m elevation; . . . )".

Comment
External morphology, coloration, and advetisement call described in the original publication. Nguyen, Tapley, Cutajar, Nguyen, Portway, Harding, Luong, and Rowley, 2020, Zootaxa, 4860: 293–300, described the tadpole and discussed the range and conservation status. Nguyen, Rowley, La, and Tapley, 2023, Herpetol. Notes, 16: 103–109, discussed life history and provided a genetically-confirmed range extension to Mount Nam Kang Ho Tao, Lao Cai Province, Vietnam.
