Distribution

Known only from the type locality (Lianshan Bijiashan Nature Reserve, Lianshan County, Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province, China, ca. 500–600 m elevation) very near the boundaries of Guangx and Hunan provinces.

The sister taxon of Leptobrachella liui + Leptobrachella mangshanensis, according to the original publication, where comparative morphology and molecular markers were detailed.
