Distribution

Central, southern and western Yunnan, China, 1000 to 2400 m elevation, to Myitkyina District, Kachin, Myanmar, northern Thailand, and approaching the border areas of Laos and northwestern Vietnam, where it is expected.

Similar to Leptobrachium chapaense according to the original publication. Fei, Hu, Ye, and Huang, 2009, Fauna Sinica, Amph. 2: 261-, provided an account, illustration of the holotype, and a spot map. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2010, Colored Atlas of Chinese Amph.: 160, provided a brief account including photographs. Matsui, Hamidy, Murphy, Khonsue, Yambun Imbun, Shimada, Ahmad, Belabut, and Jiang, 2010, Mol. Phylogenet. Evol., 56: 259–272, discussed the possibility of unnamed species associated with this lineage. Wogan, 2012, Zootaxa, 3415: 33, commented on the species and provided the first record for Myanmar. Fei, Ye, and Jiang, 2012, Colored Atlas Chinese Amph. Distr.: 188, provided an account, photographs, and a range map. Fei and Ye, 2016, Amph. China, 1: 462–465, provided an account, photograph, and dot map. Pawangkhanant, Poyarkov, Duong, Naiduangchan, and Suwannapoom, 2018, PeerJ, 6 (e3584): 1–27, provided comparative morphological data.
