Cophixalus biroi (Méhely, 1901)
Phrynixalus Biroi Méhely, 1901, Termés. Füzetek, 24: 197, 247. Syntypes: MNH, destroyed; other surviving syntypes may be BMNH 1901.3.9.2 (now reregistered 1947.2.30.91) ("juv. in egg"—Parker, 1934, Monogr. Frogs Fam. Microhylidae: 175). and NHMW 19825 (Häupl and Tiedemann, 1978, Kat. Wiss. Samml. Naturhist. Mus. Wien, 2: 29). Type locality: "Sattelberg", Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea. Junior secondary homonym of Sphenophryne biroi Mehely, 1897, when both species are in Asterophrys.

Distribution
Northern New Guinea (Indonesia and Papua New Guinea) from Lae through the foothills of the Rawlinson, Finisterre, and Adelbert Ranges to the Idenburg River.

Natural Resident: Indonesia, Indonesia - Papua Region, Papua New Guinea
