Cophixalus hinchinbrookensis Hoskin, 2012, Zootaxa, 3271: 10. Holotype: QM J44166, by original designation. Type locality: "upper Gayundah C[ree]k, Hinchinbrook Island (18° 22′ S, 146° 15′ E, elevation 850 m), north-east Queensland", Australia.

Distribution

Restricted to Hinchinbrook Island, off the coast of northeastern Queensland, Australia, at elevation above 300 m.

Comment

Confused with Cophixalus ornatus prior to a study of its molecular and morphological geographic variation, and forming the sister taxon of Cophixalus australis, according to the original publication. Cogger, 2018, Rept.
