Cophixalus mcdonaldi Zweifel, 1985, Bull. Am. Mus. Nat. Hist., 182: 328. Holotype: QM J42064, by original designation. Type locality: "at an elevation of about 900-1000 m on Mt. Elliot, 30 km southeast of Townsville, Queensland", Australia.

Asterophrys mcdonaldi — Dubois, Ohler, and Pyron, 2021, Megataxa, 5: 479, by implication.
