Cophixalus tetzlaffi Günther, 2003, Herpetozoa, Wien, 16: 13. Holotype: ZMB 62600, by original designation. Type locality: "16 km north of Fakfak town on the Bomberai Peninsula (neck of the Vogelkop [Peninsular]), Papua, Indonesia, coordinates 2° 47′ S and 132° 16′ E, altitude 860 m a.s.l."

Known only from the vicinity of the type locality at 16 km north of Fakfak town in the Fakfak Mountains, Papua, Indonesia; possibly to near Sorong, Papua, Indonesia (see comment).

Comment

Most similar to the Cophixalus pipilans-Cophixalus shellyi group according to the original publication. Oliver, Davie-Rieck, Ramdani, Dashper, Kusuma, Lee, Rittmeyer, Clancy, Hamidy, Thompson, Fouquet, Ferreira, and Richards, 2025, Pacific Conserv. Biol., 31(PC24063): 1–12, as part of a larger discussion of the role of citizen science in documenting species ranges in Melanesia noted that iNaturalist provided a range extension to near Sorong, possibly an unnamed member of the species complex.
