Mantophryne axanthogaster Kraus and Allison, 2009, Bishop Mus. Occas. Pap., 104: 18. Holotype: BPBM 20411, by original designation. Type locality: "along Gesirava River, W slope Mt. Rio, 11.49179° S, 153.41261° E, 127 m, Sudest Island, Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea".
